Hastings College Panel Discussion to Focus on Women and Health Care
A Hastings College panel discussion and brown bag lunch presentation will feature five local women from various medical fields to discuss the growing female influence in healthcare from Noon-1 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26 in the Hazelrigg Student Union Steinhart Lounge.
The presenters will share their personal experiences regarding gender and the medical establishment, the rising number of women enrolling in medical school and more.
Brown Bag Presenters include:
Phyllis Salyard, a physician at Hastings Family Practice; Judy Sandeen, a registered nurse and retired director of Hastings College Campus Health Services; Amanda Turner, a speech language pathologist for Aegis Therapies at Good Samaritan Village in Hastings; Sarah Fruehling, a private practice therapist and owner of The Center for Healing and Change in Hastings; and Kathy Amyot, a family physician at the VA Medical Center in Grand Island.
The event is sponsored by the Women and Gender Studies program at Hastings College.
