Former HC professors’ students reunite for concert

The Scharf Years Reunion concert will be held at 2 p.m., Sunday, June 13 at First Presbyterian Church in Hastings. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Scharf Years Reunion attracts 45-50 musically talented performers and directors from across the nation, who are all former students of Dr. Warren Scharf, a professor of music and head of the music department at Hastings College from 1957-65, and his wife, Margaret Scharf, an assistant professor of music at Hastings College from 1953-65.
“It’s a big camaraderie of very gifted people and those who love music and love to perform,” said Sally Dunham, who is a 1965 Hastings College alumna and a member of the Scharf Years Reunion Committee and Hastings College Alumni Board of Directors.
The group of Hastings College alumni and friends has performed multiple times in Hastings as well as in cities across the U.S. and England. Dr. and Mrs. Scharf will both participate in Sunday’s concert.
