Hastings College 124th Commencement ceremony is at 10 a.m., Saturday, May 15, in the Lynn Farrell Arena.
Dr. Jessica Meeske, pediatric dentist, public health advocate and a member of the Hastings College Board of Trustees, is the Commencement speaker. She will also receive an honorary Doctor of Science degree from the college.
 The Reverend Dr. W. Carter Aikin, director of Vocation and Values and assistant professor of religion and philosophy at Hastings College, delivered the Baccalaureate sermon on Friday evening, May 14.
 Dr. Charles Eigenberg, retiring professor of psychology, will receive an honorary Doctor of Science degree. Patrice Hughes, retiring professor of library science; Dr. Michael Johnson, retiring professor of foreign languages; Kathryn Stofer, retiring professor of communication arts; and Joachim Wunderlich, retiring professor of foreign languages, will receive honorary Doctor of Humane Letters degrees.
Hastings College has 213 undergraduates crossing the stage on Saturday with 21 Master of Arts in Teaching graduates.
Graduate honors, which are limited to the top 12 percent of the undergraduate class, were awarded to 25 seniors. An additional 50 seniors were cited for distinction in their departmental studies.
High distinction is awarded to seniors who have earned a 3.85 to 4.0 grade point average in their major area of study. Distinction is awarded to seniors with at least a 3.7 grade point average in their major.
