Faculty and advisor honors were named during the annual Hastings College Honors Convocation, at 10 a.m., Friday, May 7 in French Memorial Chapel.

Award recipients are listed below with their titles and award information included.

Distinguished Senior Faculty Award
George White is a professor of theatre arts and chair of the department at Hastings College.
The Distinguished Senior Faculty Award is funded by Hal Dittmer ’62, chair of the Hastings College Board of Trustees. The $5,000 award is presented to a faculty member who has dedicated at least 15 years of professional service to Hastings College. The winner also must demonstrate a sustained commitment to quality teaching and to campus and community service.

Kent and Normalee Stadler Faculty Achievement Award
Dr. Robert Amyot is an assistant professor of political science at Hastings College.
All full-time faculty members are eligible for the Faculty Achievement Award that includes a $2,500 award funded by Hastings College alumni Kent and Normalee Stadler of Lincoln. The recipient must have demonstrated significant and meritorious achievement in teaching. Students, faculty and staff make the nominations.

Vondrak Outstanding Advisor Award
Dr. Renée Laegreid is an associate professor of history at Hastings College.
All full-time faculty and staff with academic advising duties are eligible for this honor that includes a $1,000 award. The recipient must have demonstrated high standards in academic advising and outstanding service to the campus community.

2010-11 ALS Invited Faculty Lecturers
Dr. Robert Amyot is an assistant professor of political science at Hastings College.
Tom Kreager is a professor of art at Hastings College.
The Artist Lecture Series (ALS) lecturers are nominated by faculty members and selected by a vote of the student body each year. The chosen lecturers present an all-campus talk on a topic of their choice.
