Nov. 10 - Short to present Langvardt Lecture at Hastings College
Hastings College senior, Victor Short, Salida, Colo., will present the Arthur and Eunice Langvardt Lecture, at 10 a.m., Friday, Nov. 13 in Hazelrigg Student Union Room C.
He will present an English forum entitled “One Rather Hard Crumb: An Absence of Miracle in Elizabeth Bishop’s ‘A Miracle for Breakfast.’”
The public is invited to attend, and refreshments will be served.
Short, who is majoring in English (K-12 Subject Endorsement) and religion, presented a paper on Bishop’s poem at the 24th Annual National Undergraduate Literature Conference in Ogden, Utah last April.
Hastings College, founded in 1882, is a private, four-year liberal arts institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA).
