Sept. 10 - Hastings College continues tradition of support
The 18th annual Tri-City AIDS Walk will be held simultaneously in Hastings and Kearney on Sunday, September 13. The Hastings walk will start at 1:30 p.m. at Hazelrigg Student Union at Hastings College. Registration begins at 1 p.m. The Hastings College Peer HIV Education Organization (PHIVE-O) is a sponsor of the walk.
The Rev. Scott Taylor from Grand Island will begin the walk with a few motivational words, and Hastings Sinfonia will serenade the walkers with a musical selection.
Food and beverages will be on hand for all walkers, and prizes will be awarded after the walk.
The annual Tri-City Aids Walk is a joint effort for residents of Hastings, Kearney and Grand Island to support people in 36 central Nebraska counties who are HIV positive or have AIDS. Walkers raise money through pledges and donations, with proceeds going directly to Nebraska AIDS Project clients.
