August 27 - Hastings College ranked among America’s Best Liberal Arts Colleges

Hastings College is ranked among “America’s Best Liberal Arts Colleges” in U.S. News & World Report, America’s Best Colleges 2010. The rankings provide students a list of schools to consider and compare as they select their college or university. Hastings College placed in the third tier of best liberal arts colleges.

U.S. News & World Report compared the academic quality of Hastings College with 266 other liberal arts institutions across the United States. These colleges emphasize undergraduate education and award at least half their degrees in the liberal arts. Most are private institutions.

Rankings use Carnegie classifications based on peer assessment, graduation and retention rates, faculty resources, student selectivity, financial resources and alumni giving rate. Colleges submitted data that was compiled with information collected from other national associations.

Hastings College was named 75th Best Value College in the nation and #1 in Nebraska by Forbes.com and the Center for College Affordability and Productivity. The college was named a 2010 “Best in the Midwest” by The Princeton Review and rated a “Best Buy in College Education” by Barron’s.

Hastings College, founded in 1882, is a private, four-year liberal arts institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). A total of 64 majors in 32 areas of study and 12 pre-professional programs are offered to more than 1,150 students.
