With sixteen teams named 2008-09 NAIA Scholar Team of the Year, Hastings College has more teams receiving the honor than any other NAIA school in Nebraska this year, and the college ranks only second in the nation for the number of teams to receive the award.

For a team to be considered for the Scholar Team award, all members of the team must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher.

Home of the Hastings Broncos, Hastings College is a private, four-year liberal arts institution, founded in 1882 and affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). Hastings College received the 2009 GPAC All-Sports Trophy for the best overall performance in 19 conference sports, and 53 Broncos were named Academic All-American this year.
