March 31, 2005 - Hastings College students volunteer for Habitat for Humanity project

Hastings, Neb., March 31, 2005 -- Fourteen Hastings College students volunteered for a Habitat for Humanity project in Lexington, Ky., during spring break, March 21-25. The group assisted with three houses in various phases of construction. Students worked on a foundation, put up siding, shingled, and installed insulation.
More than 11,000 students from colleges across the country volunteered at numerous locations as part of the 17th annual Collegiate Challenge. Since 1976, students have helped build 175,000 homes, providing shelter for 900,000 people in more than 100 countries.
