June 2 - Athlete earns Gold Glove placement and first for Hastings College, GPAC

Hastings College senior Bryant McCann, Omaha, Neb., has been named to the 2009 Rawlings-NAIA Gold Glove Team as pitcher. McCann is the first GPAC player to be honored with this award, and the first Hastings College baseball player to be named to the NAIA Gold Glove Team. In his four years in the starting rotation, McCann did not commit one error as a pitcher for the Hastings College Broncos. McCann was honored earlier this month by the GPAC by making first team All-Conference.

McCann is among nine players from across the country chosen as the best collegiate fielders. The players are selected by the NAIA-Baseball Coaches Association (BCA) All-American Selection Committee. This is the third year the NAIA Gold Glove Team has been chosen.

Hastings College, founded in 1882, is a private, four-year liberal arts institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA).
