June 2 - Athletes earn three All-Americans and break records for Hastings College
The Hastings College track and field team competed with success at the 2009 NAIA Men’s & Women’s Outdoor Track & Field National Championships held May 21-23 in Edwardsville, Ill.
The Broncos brought home hardware with three All-Americans: Brad Gamble, Eagle, Colo., Josh Pinkelman, Cozad, Neb., and the women's 4x800 relay team, Kay Broekemeier, Central City, Neb., Alyssa Farmer, Hastings, Neb., Audrey Curtis, Lincoln, Neb., and Scottie Shaw, Hastings, Neb. Gamble placed 5th in the 110 hurdles with a time of 14.54. Pinkelman placed 4th in the shot put with a throw of 53' 5.5". The 4x800 relay team ran 9:07.49 to place 5th and break the school record yet again. Bryan Eicher, Brighton, Colo., broke the school record in the marathon placing 9th, running 2:36:45.
Hastings College, founded in 1882, is a private, four-year liberal arts institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA).
