April 30 - Hastings College media win Media of the Year at state press awards
Hastings College radio station KFKX 90.1, television station HCTV6 and website HCworldnews.com were named Media of the Year for overall excellence at the 2009 Golden Leaf Awards presented by the Nebraska Collegiate Media Association and Nebraska Press Association on Saturday, April 4 at Wayne State College in Wayne, Neb.
At the 17th annual competition, Hastings College media received 26 first-place awards, 15 second-place awards, 11 third-place awards and seven honorable mentions. They swept the top three spots in five award categories.
Hastings College media competed with collegiate media from Chadron State College, Concordia University, Doane College, Midland Lutheran College, Northeast Community College, Wayne State College and Western Nebraska Community College.
