April 9, 2009 - Hastings College Forensics team is 15th in the nation
(Hastings, Neb.) - The Hastings College forensics team placed 15th at the American Forensic Association (AFA) National Individual Events Tournament at Akron, Ohio. Ten Hastings College students competed in 32 events this year.
The HC team competed against 83 schools such as Kansas State University, University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire and Seton Hall. This marks the 11th consecutive year Hastings College has achieved a top 20 finish and 5 consecutive years in the top 15.
Hastings College seniors, Alia Mohsen and Sara Ninabuck, were named a 2009 AFA All-American Team. The honor is based on leadership in forensics, community service, college contributions and academic success.
