Oct. 14, 2008 - Hastings College receives wellness award

Hastings College received a Governor’s Excellence in Wellness Award at the Nebraska Safety and Worksite Wellness Conference held Wednesday, Oct. 8, in Kearney. The college was recognized for its commitment to employees’ well being.
Hastings College received the Sower’s Award, an award that recognizes organizations that have developed quality wellness programs.
“Workplace wellness programs help Nebraska employees lead healthier lives,” said Gov. Dave Heineman. "They also show real benefits for companies in the form of increased productivity, greater employee satisfaction and lower health care costs."
The Governor's Excellence in Wellness Award was developed to encourage businesses to offer employee health and wellness programs.
Accepting the award for Hastings College was Renae Griess, mail inquiry coordinator for the admissions office.
