The Hastings College forensics team placed 12th at the American Forensic Association (AFA) National Individual Events Tournament at the University of Florida in Gainesville, March 31-April 3.

The Hastings College forensics team placed 12th at the American Forensic Association (AFA) National Individual Events Tournament at the University of Florida in Gainesville, March 31-April 3.
Students who placed were:
- Cadi Kadlecek, senior, national champion in prose interpretation, (the college’s fourth individual championship since 1993, and the second championship in prose), Charles/Rhonda Kadlecek, Ceresco, Neb. Kadlecek also was one of 12 seniors in the nation named a 2006 AFA All-American. The honor is based on competitive and academic success and service work.
- Jordan Palmer, sophomore, 2nd place, prose interpretation; 2nd place, dramatic interpretation, 9th place overall in individual sweeps, Todd/April Palmer, Omaha, Neb.
- Three others advanced to the quarterfinal round: Maurianna Shelbourn, senior, communication analysis, Susan Goodrich, Lincoln, Neb./Jimmy Shelbourn, Beatrice, Neb.; Alia Mohsen, freshman, persuasion, Richard/Nancy Carl, Doniphan, Neb.; Sarah Jones, junior, dramatic interpretation, Michael/Debbra Jones, Hoskins, Neb.
