Top high school students from across the Midwest have been selected to receive Hastings College’s most prestigious scholarships for the 2007-08 academic year including: Walter Scott Scholarships, Trustee Scholarships, President Scholarships and Pro Rege Scholarships.

 Three full-tuition Walter Scott Scholarships were offered. These awards are worth more than $75,000 over four years. Winners include: David Bates, Colorado Springs, Colo.; April Christensen, Hardy, Neb.; and Julia Kaup, Grand Island, Neb.

 Trustee Scholarships are valued at $12,000 per year, or $48,000 for four years; President Scholarships are worth $10,000 per year, or $40,000 for four years; and Pro Rege Scholarships are worth $7,500 per year, or $30,000 for four years. Scholarships are renewable if recipients maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or higher.

 Recipients may also be eligible for additional special skills scholarships.

 Students must rank in the top 20 percent of their senior class and score a 27 composite score or higher on the ACT exam, or at least a 1, 200 combined score on the SAT exam.
Hastings College, founded in 1882, is a private, four-year liberal arts institution affiliated with the Presbyterian Church (USA). A total of 64 majors in 32 areas of study and 12 pre-professional programs are offered to 1,143 students. The college was cited among top liberal arts colleges, national bachelor’s category, in U.S. News and World Report, America’s Best Colleges 2007, and was listed as a Best Midwestern College by The Princeton Review.
