April 12, 2007 - Hastings College forensics team, national results
The Hastings College forensics team placed 15th at the American Forensic Association (AFA) National Individual Events Tournament at Minnesota State University-Mankato, April 6 – 9. The team has placed in the top 20 for the past nine years, and has placed in the top 15 for the past three years.
Thirteen Hastings College students competed in 29 events.
Sarah Jones was one of 17 seniors named a 2007 AFA All-American. The honor is based on leadership in forensics, community service, college contributions, and academic success. Jones is the daughter of Michael/Debbra Jones, Hoskins, Neb.
Students who placed were:
Jordan Palmer, junior, quarterfinalist in prose; semi-finalist in drama and poetry.
Palmer is the daughter of Todd/April Palmer, Omaha, Neb.
Janet Dickey, sophomore, quarterfinalist in impromptu speaking.
Dickey is the daughter of Martin/Lucille Dickey, Ft. Collins, Colo.
