Hastings College senior Seth Torpin will present the annual Sara Jane Gardner Memorial Lecture, Monday, April 2, 10 a.m., in Hazelrigg Student Union, Room C. The lecture is free and open to the public.

Torpin will address the topic, “Only in the Grave Will England Cease to Claim Them: The Jacknell Expedition and the Fenian Crisis in Anglo-American Relations."

 Phi Alpha Theta history honor society sponsors the Sara Jane Gardner Award, presented each year to a senior history major. Gardner was a former English and history professor at Hastings College.

Torpin is the son of Richard and Susan Torpin, Walton, Neb.
