The Hastings College Nebraska Alpha Chapter of Alpha Chi academic honor society was recognized as a Star Chapter at the organization’s national convention, March 15 – 17, in San Antonio, Texas. The chapter, chartered in 1949, was one of 34 honored among 330 active chapters in the nation.

 Senior Josh Fangmeier was awarded The Walden S. Freeman Prize in History.
Fangmeier, who also gave a presentation at the convention, is the son of David and Debra Fangmeier, Hebron, Neb.

 Also attending and presenting at the convention was Becky Burks, junior, daughter of Geoffrey and Pamela Burks, North Platte, Neb. 

 Alpha Chi promotes scholarship and exceptional academic records through activities, forums and events at Hastings College. Members must be juniors or seniors, and be the top 10 percent of their class.
