March 23, 2007 - Soprano Julie Clawson to perform at Hastings College
Soprano Julie Clawson will perform in a recital Tuesday, March 27, at 7:30 p.m., in Perkins Auditorium, Fuhr Hall of Music. The performance is free and the public is welcome to attend.
Clawson will perform works of Henry Purcell, Francis Poulenc, Franz Liszt, Lori Laitman and Charles Griffes.
Accompanying Clawson will be Ruth Moore, associate professor of music, on the piano; and Dr. Debra McKim, associate professor of music, on the alto saxophone.
Originally from Boston, Mass., Clawson graduated from Hartt School of Music at The University of Hartford. She toured with Opera New England and has been a featured soloist with Orchestra New England, Concora and The Woodland Scholars. Clawson also has performed throughout New England and in New York City.
Clawson, who resides in Hastings, Neb., has performed with the Hastings Symphony Orchestra and the Hastings College Choir.
