March 8, 2007 - Shannon Salyards to present recital at Hastings College
Soprano Shannon Salyards will present a guest recital at Hastings College, Tuesday, March 13, at 7:30 p.m., in Perkins Auditorium, Fuhr Hall of Music. The recital is free and open to the public.
Dr. Jonathan Sokasits, Hastings College professor of music, will accompany Salyards on the piano.
Salyards will perform music by Nikolai Medtner, Henri Duparc, Richard Strauss and Andre Previn.
Salyards, from Lincoln, Neb., has appeared with Abendmusik Lincoln, the Nebraska Wind Symphony, the First Plymouth Concert Series (Lincoln), the Hastings Symphony Orchestra, Boston University Choral Society, and the Boston Orpheus Ensemble.
Formerly a voice faculty member at Boston University Tanglewood Institute, Salyards is an adjunct voice, music theory and choral music faculty member at the University of Nebraska at Omaha and Doane College, Crete, Neb.
