March 2, 2007 - Laegreid to deliver ALS invited lecture at Hastings College
Dr. Renee Laegreid, assistant professor of history, will present the spring ALS (Artist Lecture Series) invited faculty lecture, Friday, March 9, at 10 a.m., in French Memorial Chapel. She will address “Cowboys vs. Butteri: the Symbolic Significance of Guys on Horses in the U.S. and Italy.”
The public is welcome to attend.
Laegreid joined the Hastings College in 2003. She completed a bachelor’s degree at Washington State University, Pullman; a master’s degree at Wesleyan University, Middletown, Conn.; and a doctoral degree at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln.
In May 2006, Laegreid received the college’s Faculty Achievement Award, and in August 2006, her book, Riding Pretty: Rodeo Royalty in the American West, was published by the University of Nebraska Press.
Laegreid serves as a district coordinator for the National History Day district competition held at Hastings College.
