November 21, 2006 - Hastings College holiday lighting ceremony

The annual Hastings College holiday lighting ceremony will take place at French Memorial Chapel, Tuesday, Nov. 28, at 7 p.m. The public is invited to join students, faculty and staff for a short program in the chapel. “The Night Before Christmas” will be read and acted out, and the audience can join in the singing of Christmas carols. Santa Claus will be there, too. Participants will gather outside and take part in the traditional countdown for the lighting ceremony in Circle Drive, which will feature a new 26-foot, Christmas tree. Hot chocolate, cookies and candy canes will available at no charge. The event is sponsored by Student Alumni Ambassadors. Junior Jill Heiden, daughter of Gregory and Cynthia Heiden, Benedict, Neb., organized the event.
