October 20, 2006 - Hastings College to host pianist Dr. Nelita True
World-famous pianist Dr. Nelita True will perform at Hastings College, Thursday, Oct. 26, at 7:30 p.m., in Perkins Auditorium, Fuhr Hall of Music. The public is invited to attend. Tickets may be purchased at the door beginning Thursday at 6:30 p.m. Tickets for adults are $15, $10 for senior citizens, and $5 for non-Hastings College students. True is guest artist for the Nebraska Music Teacher Conference which will be held at Hastings College, Thursday – Sunday, Oct. 26 – 29. More than 200 Nebraska music teachers are registered to attend. True will present a master class and other special presentations. True is professor of piano at Eastman School of Music, Rochester, N.Y. She debuted at the age of 17 with the Chicago Symphony in Orchestra Hall and with the Juilliard Orchestra in New York City. Her career has taken her to major cities in Europe, Indonesia, Korea, Japan, Mexico, Iceland, New Zealand, Brazil, Australia, Canada, Hong Kong and Singapore, as well as to 49 states in the United States.

A visiting professor at St. Petersburg Conservatory in Russia, True has performed in the People’s Republic of China 12 times.
