Donald E. Jackson, Chicago, Ill., chief operating officer (COO) of Easter Seals, has joined the Hastings College Board of Trustees. The Board will meet Thursday and Friday, Sept. 27 and 28, on the college campus.

A Nebraska native, Jackson is a 1970 graduate of Hastings College.

 Jackson was appointed COO of Easter Seals in 1991. He is responsible for internal operations, human resources and training, and relationships with 89 affiliate organizations. He previously was president of Rehabilitation Systems, Inc., Oak Park, Ill., a multi-state health care corporation he founded in 1976.

 A licensed physical therapist, Jackson has been involved with the American Physical Therapy Association for numerous years. He also helped shape physical therapy legislation through the Illinois Physical Therapy Association, where he served as president, treasurer and member lobbyist. Jackson received the APTA Lucy Blair Service Award, the APTA State Legislative Leadership Award, and the Illinois Physical Therapy Association Outstanding Physical Therapist Award.

 Jackson completed a master of science degree in rehabilitation administration at DePaul University, Chicago. He received a certificate in physical therapy from Northwestern University, Chicago.
