Three members of the faculty received the 2008 Hastings College Polished Apple Award. The award is presented annually by the Hastings College Student Alumni Ambassadors (SAA) and recognizes faculty who have been teaching at the college for three years or less.

Selected were Dr. Robert Amyot, Dr. Moses Dogbevia and Susan Franklin. Recipients were honored at the final spring faculty meeting.

Amyot, assistant professor of political science, has been a member of the faculty since 2006. He completed a bachelor’s degree at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst and a doctoral degree at George Washington University.

Dogbevia, assistant professor of chemistry, joined the faculty in 2006. He completed a bachelor’s degree at Cape Coast, Ghana, and a doctoral degree at the University of Nevada-Reno.

Franklin, assistant professor of library science and public service librarian, has been a full-time member of the faculty since 2007. She completed undergraduate work at Hastings College, and completed master of arts degrees at Texas A & M and the University of Missouri. She previously served as adjunct instructor in English and interlibrary loan assistant at Hastings College.
