April 21, 2008 - Hastings College to host Safety Extravaganza

Hastings College Alpha Phi Sigma social sorority is sponsoring a Safety Extravaganza, Saturday, May 3, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., in the Osborne Family Sports Complex parking lot, 800 E. 12th St. The event, designed to promote safety among children and college students, is open to the public.
Admission is free.
Participating organizations include: Hastings Police Department, Hastings Fire Department, Project Extra Mile, Nebraska State Patrol, SafeKids and Nebraska Office of Highway Safety.
The Extravaganza will feature carnival games, free inflatables and raffle items. Proceeds from the carnival games and raffle will go toward Project Extra Mile and SafeKids. Food for purchase will be available.
Project Extra Mile is a statewide network of community coalitions in Nebraska working to prevent underage drinking. SafeKids is an international, nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing unintentional childhood injury.
In case of rain, the event will be held in Kiewit Gymnasium, 715 E. 7th Street.
