The following Hastings College events will take place in May. All events are free unless otherwise noted.  Hastings College is located at 710 North Turner Avenue.

Art gallery
May 4 – 17, Senior Thesis #3, Nick Fruin and Angela Schrad.
1 p.m., Sunday, May 4, Senior Thesis #3 lecture, Wilson Auditorium, reception to follow in the art gallery.
Gallery hours: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., weekdays; 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday; and 2 – 4 p.m., Sunday.

Theatre
8 p.m., Thursday – Saturday, May 1 – 3, Holy Ghosts, by Romulus Linney, Scott Studio Theatre.   (For adult audiences.)
2 p.m., Sunday, May 4, Holy Ghosts, by Romulus Linney, Scott Studio Theatre.
 Box office opens Thursday, April 24, and remains open Monday-Friday, 1 to 5 p.m.,  (402) 461-7380, or tickets@hastings.edu; adults - $8; seniors and non-Hastings Colleges students - $5.

7:30 p.m., Sunday, May 4, student recital, Cassy Johnson, violin, Perkins Auditorium, Fuhr Hall of Music.
7:30 p.m., Tuesday, May 6, student recital, Men’s Choir and Hastings College Singers, Perkins Auditorium, Fuhr Hall of Music.
7:30 p.m., Thursday, May 8, student recital, Vocal Spectrum, French Memorial Chapel.
8 p.m., Friday, May 9, student recital, Michael Heuertz, tenor, David Reeves, piano, Perkins Auditorium, Fuhr Hall of Music.

Other events
11 a.m. – 3 p.m., Saturday, May 3, Safety Extravaganza for all ages, sponsored by Alpha Phi Sigma social sorority. Safety promotions by local agencies, carnival games, free inflatables, raffle items, food available, Osborne Sports Complex parking lot.

6 p.m., Friday, May 16, Baccalaureate, First Presbyterian Church, 621 N. Lincoln Ave.  Speaker will be The Reverend William Nottage-Tacey, D.Min., senior pastor and head of staff at First Presbyterian Church, Hastings, Neb.
10 a.m., Saturday, May 17, Commencement, Lynn Farrell Arena. Speaker will be Darrel Lloyd, Hastings, Neb., professor emeritus of English at Hastings College. Receiving an honorary Doctor of Business Administration degree will be Kenneth Morrison, Hastings, Neb.
