April 8, 2008 - Hastings College receives three awards at BACCHUS conference

The Hastings College Peer Umbrella Network (PUN) received three awards at the BACCHUS Network Area 5 Meeting of the Minds Conference, April 3-6, at the Kansas City Airport Marriott, Kansas City, Mo.
Ashley Phillips, Tucson, Ariz., was named Area 5 Outstanding Senior. Beth Littrell, Hastings College director of health services, was named Area 5 Outstanding Advisor. Aaron Lauer, Minneapolis, Minn., a 2007 Hastings College graduate, was named Area 5 Outstanding Alumnus.
PUN groups within Area 5 select and submit a nominee for each award. A selection committee makes the final choice in each of five categories. Nominees are considered for the work they have done on campus and in the community as peer educators, advisors and alumni. Area 5 includes Nebraska, Iowa, Kansas and Missouri.
The BACCHUS organization (Boost Alcohol Consciousness Concerning the Health of University Students) encourages responsible decision-making concerning the use or non-use of alcohol, and to encourage respect for the choices of others.
