March 28, 2008 - Hastings College students to perform in recital
Three Hastings College students will perform in a recital, Sunday, March 30, at 3 p.m., in Perkins Auditorium, Fuhr Hall of Music.
The recital is free and open to the public.
Performing will be Katie Smith, tuba; Eric Micks, bass; and Chris Wurst, trumpet.
Smith will play Galliard’s Sonata No. 5, Tcherepnin’s Andante, and Jacob’s Tuba Suite.
Micks will perform Bononcini’s Per la Gloria from “Griselda,” Torelli’s Tu lo sai, Bridge’s O That It Were So!, Shubert’s Das Wandern, Handel’s Stille amare from “Tolomeo,” Adamo’s Kennst du das Land from “Little Women,” Berlin’s How Deep is the Ocean, and Schwartz’s Father and Sons from “Working.”
Tom Lesiak will provide piano accompaniment.
Wurst will play Purcell’s Sonata in D Major; Kennan’s Sonata for Trumpet and Piano; Rachmaninoff’s Vocalise, Opus 34, No. 14; and Goedicke’s Concert Etude, Opus 49.
Benjiman Pettiford will provide piano accompaniment.
Smith, a sophomore, is the daughter of Timothy/Melody Smith, Alliance, Neb.
Micks, a sophomore, is the son of Ernest/Elizabeth Micks, Bellevue, Neb.
Lesiak, a sophomore, is the son of Charles Lesiak, Jr., Cedar Bluffs, Neb.
Wurst, a junior, is the son of Mark/Catherine Wurst, Highlands Ranch, Colo.
Pettiford, a junior, is the son of Ann Pettiford, Lincoln, Neb.
