March 12, 2008 - Hastings College Media Department to provide NAIA coverage

The Hastings College Media Department will provide official coverage of the 2008 NAIA Women’s Division II National Basketball Championship in Sioux City, Iowa, Wednesday, March 12 through Tuesday, March 18, at the Tyson Events Center/Gateway Arena. 

Nineteen Hastings College media students will be responsible for recording 30 games during the tournament, providing a close circuit live feed to televisions in Tyson Events Center, and also will provide a feed to Jumptv for a live web stream on the NAIA website. 

During the tournament, coverage of Hastings College games will also be available on HCworldnews.com, HCTV, Channel 6 (Charter Communications in Hastings, Neb.), KFKX, FM 90.1, and KHAS, AM 1230. 

The Hastings College Broncos will begin tournament competition, Thursday, March 13, at 2:15 p.m., when they face King College, Bristol, Tenn.  

Faculty sponsors in the media department are Chad Power, instructor of communication arts; Brett Erickson, assistant professor of communication arts; and Sharon Brooks, associate professor of communication arts and English.
