Feb. 27, 2008 - Hastings College forensics results

The Hastings College forensics team competed in the “Dan Johnson Memorial/Erin Cico Swing,” co-hosted by Kansas State University and Hastings College, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 23 and 24. The competition was held on the Kansas State University campus in Manhattan. 

 The team placed first in team sweeps on Saturday. Additionally, Christina Luster, Greeley, Colo., placed 1st overall, Aaron Blackman, Valparaiso, Neb., placed 3rd overall, and Curt Casper, Lexington, Neb., received 4th place in quadrathon (competed in at least four events).


Saturday, Feb. 23 – Results:
Melanie Hiatt, senior, 2nd place, duo interpretation (qualified for nationals); Michael/Lisa Hiatt, Harvard, Neb.
Aaron Blackman, junior, 3rd place, duo interpretation; 2nd place, after dinner speaking (qualified for nationals); Susan Blackman/Raymond Blackman, Valparaiso, Neb.
Janet Dickey, junior, 3rd place, prose; 1st place, communication analysis (qualified for nationals); Martin/Lucille Dickey, Ft. Collins, Colo.  
Barrett Graham, junior, 5th place, communication analysis; 3rd place, duo interpretation; Tim/Terri Graham, Doniphan, Neb.
Tony Holys, junior, 5th place, after dinner speaking; 3rd place, program of oral interpretation; Edward/Judith Holys, North Platte, Neb.
Christina Luster, junior, 2nd place, impromptu speaking; 1st place, extemporaneous speaking (qualified for nationals in both events); Bradley/Deborah Luster, Greeley, Colo.
