Hastings College will observe Women’s History Month during the month of March with a variety of activities. All events are free and open to the public.
Through – March 8, art show, works by Shannon Bourne (painting), Victoria
Gorro-Rappaport (printmaking), and Deborah Dohne (sculpture), Art Gallery.
Gallery hours: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m., weekdays; 10 a.m. – 4 p.m., Saturday; and 2 – 4 p.m., Sunday.
2 – 3 p.m., Sunday, March 2, art show reception, Art Gallery.
10 a.m., Wednesday, March 5, Rev. Karla J. Cooper, pastor of Quinn Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church, Lincoln, Neb., will speak at a morning of prayer service, French Memorial Chapel. Sigma Alpha Iota, women’s music honorary, will provide music.
12 – 1 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, voter information, Hazelrigg Student Union.
7 p.m., Wednesday, March 5, keynote speaker, Mosemarie Boyd, CEO of American Women Presidents, French Memorial Chapel.
10 a.m., Friday, March 7, ALS Invited Faculty Lecture, Dr. Antje Anderson, associate professor of English, “Starring Estella: Dickens’ ‘Great Expectations’ on Film,” French Memorial Chapel.
7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 11, Lauren Pelon, “Women in Music: Someone Will Remember Us,” music written for and by women, Perkins Auditorium, Fuhr Hall of Music.
