Feb. 12, 2008 - Hastings College forensics results

The Hastings College forensics team competed in the “Fat Tuesday Swing” co-hosted by the University of Nebraska-Kearney and Northeast Community College, Kearney, Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 9 and 10. 


 The team placed second in team sweeps on Sunday and received second place in overall team sweeps. Aaron Blackman, Valparaiso, Neb., received second place in quadrathon for the weekend.





Saturday, Feb. 9 – Results:

Melanie Hiatt, senior, 4th place, prose; 2nd place, program of oral interpretation; (qualified for nationals in both events); Michael/Lisa Hiatt, Harvard, Neb.
Jordan Palmer, senior, 6th place, program of oral interpretation; Todd/April Palmer, Omaha, Neb.
Janet Dickey, junior, 3rd place, prose; 3rd place, communication analysis; 1st place, duo interpretation (qualified for nationals); Martin/Lucille Dickey, Ft. Collins, Colo.  
Alia Mohsen, junior, 4th place, persuasion; 1st place, duo interpretation (qualified for  nationals); Richard/Nancy Carl (grandparents), Doniphan, Neb. Sara Ninabuck, junior, 5th place, extemporaneous speaking; Barbara Ninabuck, Edgar, Neb.
