Feb. 8, 2008 - Babcock to present history forum at Hastings College
Dr. Robert Babcock, Hastings College professor of history, will present a history forum, Monday, Feb. 18, at 10 a.m., in Hazelrigg Student Union,
Room C.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
Babcock will address “The Gardens of Remembrance (An Gairdin Cuimhneachain) in Dublin: Making and Re-making the Memory of Easter, 1916,” which will focus on the Irish struggle for independence.
Babcock has been a member of the faculty since 1992. In 2005, he was appointed to the Dorothy Weyer Creigh Distinguished Professorship in History. He completed a bachelor of arts degree at Beloit College, Beloit, Wis., a master of arts degree at the University of Missouri-Columbia, and a doctorate at the University of California-Santa Barbara.
