2007 - 2008 Releases

Jan. 21, 2008 - Hastings College to present “Into the Woods”

The Hastings College Theatre and Music Departments will combine to perform “Into the Woods,” a musical written by Stephen Sondheim, based on the book written by James Lapine, Thursday, Friday and Saturday, Feb. 7-9, at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, Feb. 10, at 2 p.m., in Scott Studio Theatre.

George White, professor of theatre arts, directs the play, and Dr. Fritz Mountford, professor of music, is music director.

An ambivalent Cinderella, a blood-thirsty Red Ridinghood, two Prince Charmings with roving eyes, and a witch with a secret are among the cockeyed characters in this fractured fairy tale. One of Sondheim’s most memorable musical scores completes this funny and moving modern classic.

The box office opens Thursday, Jan. 31, and will remain open Monday-Friday, 1 to 5 p.m. You may also call (402) 461-7380, or email tickets@hastings.edu.
