Jan. 10, 2007 - Artist Stephen Petegorsky to lecture at Hastings College
Freelance photographer Stephen Petegorsky will present a lecture at Hastings College, Thursday, Jan. 17, at 7 p.m., in Wilson Auditorium.
The lecture is free and open to the public.
Throughout his photographic career, Petegorsky has created black and white landscapes. He also creates pieces that involve transferring Polaroid emulsions onto boards covered with gold leaf.
Since 1998, Petegorsky has volunteered in various prosthetics clinics in Central America. His photographs document humanitarian efforts in Nicaragua, Honduras, and Ethiopia, and are the basis of his recent creative work.
Petegorsky is a graduate of Amherst College and Rhode Island School of Design.
His clients include major artists, museums, galleries, and filmmaker Ken Burns.
Petegorsky’s visit is sponsored by the college’s Artist Lecture Series (ALS).
