Nov. 21, 2007 - Hastings College to observe World AIDS Day
Hastings College PHIVE-O members (Peer HIV Education Organization) will observe World AIDS Day, Wednesday, Nov. 28. Events are free and open to the public.
World AIDS Day was founded in 1988.
A special service will be held in French Memorial Chapel, Wednesday, at 10 a.m. A representative from the Nebraska AIDS Project will speak. At 7 p.m., a candlelight vigil will take place outside the chapel.
Throughout the week, a traveling AIDS quilt will be on display in Perkins Library and in Hazelrigg Student Union. The quilt, which has been shown throughout the United States, recognizes individuals and families affected with HIV/AIDS.
