Hastings College will host the 40th annual Nebraska Economic Business Association Conference (NEBA), Friday, Oct. 26, in Hazelrigg Student Union, Rooms A, B and C. This is the fourth time the college has hosted the all-day conference.

This year’s theme is “Immigration and the Great Plains.”

Dr. Douglas Kinnear, Hastings College assistant professor of economics and president elect of NEBA, is coordinating the conference.

Keynote speaker will be Orn Bodvarsson, professor of economics at St. Cloud State University, St. Cloud, Minn. His primary area of research is economics of immigration.
The conference will feature presentations of student papers, faculty research papers and a panel discussion regarding immigration and its impact on the Nebraska economy.

“The conference is a chance for people in this area to get together and share what they’ve been working on throughout the year,” Kinnear said.

NEBA focuses on issues and research regarding economics and business topics and how they relate to the economy of Nebraska and the Great Plains.
