Hastings College offers opportunities for gifted athletes to participate in one or more sports while earning an outstanding liberal arts education. You can help ensure that current and future student athletes benefit from the advantages of Hastings College by contributing to the Difference Makers Campaign’s Fund for Athletics.

The late Bobby Gottsch, who supported every area of Hastings College, was especially generous to athletics. He provided scholarships to dozens of difference-making athletes and made leadership gifts to the Osborne Family Sports Complex and track facility. In recognition of his meritorious service to the College and its athletic program, Bobby was named to the Hastings College Athletic Hall of Fame, posthumously, in 2011.

Your gifts to the Fund for Athletics will support scholarships for student athletes, team travel, equipment, and facility improvements, including the refurbishing of the decade-old Robert Gottsch Sr. Weight Training Room at the Osborne Family Sports Complex. This $100,000 project created a weight training facility second to none in the region, with new equipment and features specially chosen by coaches of the various men’s and women’s teams.

Reflecting the Athletic Department’s collective vision, the Weight Training Room includes shock-absorbing flooring, turf for indoor sprint training, functional training machines built to match any movement made in athletics, and many other new machines and improvements.

Open to athletes and non-athletes alike, the Weight Training Room will help attract prospective students and offer top-notch fitness opportunities for current students.
