Welcome to the Theatre Department

The Department of Theatre Arts is a valuable contributor to and an essential part of the Hastings College campus and community. The Theatre Department at HC is part of the Liberal Arts Program, which gives students a look at different academic areas. Four to five productions are done annually, from classics to original scripts to musicals (every other year). These are presented in the versatile Scott Studio Theatre complex.

Strengths of the Program
- The studio is flexible in allowing different arrangements of the stage and the seating and is fully wireless computer capable.
- Several student directed productions are done throughout the year and proven students are invited to design. This allows for unique opportunities for the HC theatre student.
- Small classes allow for individual attention and training.
- Apprenticeships in professional performance and design/tech can be arranged through the faculty both in the U.S. and abroad.
- All costumes and sets are made in the Scott Studio Theatre by our students and staff.
