Hastings College awards academic scholarships based on standardized test scores and GPA (see graph below). Amounts are as follows and renewable each year with good academic standing.
All of the awards below can be combined with other Hastings College financial aid. (Excludes Full-Tuition Scholarships)

A limited number of scholarships for full tuition, room, board and general fees are available to National Finalists. Please check with your HC admissions counselor for specific requirements.
| Special Skills |
Scholarships are offered by the following departments to recognize ability, potential and passion. All special skill scholarships are fully renewable. Students should contact their HC admissions counselor at (800) 532-7642 or e-mail: admissions@hastings.edu, or the department directly for renewal requirements.
- Art – Submit a portfolio of artwork so our art professors can see a sample of your work
- Athletics – Talk to our coaches, submit a game video and/or a letter of recommendation from your high school coach
- Club Rodeo – Talk to our coach
- Dance/Cheerleading – Tryout to be selected as a member of the dance or cheerleading team
- Drama – Audition on campus with a memorized one-to-three minute cutting from a play
- Forensics – Audition on campus with any speech you are competing with or have competed with in high school
- Media – The CABE Department awards skill scholarships for majors and non-majors in the following three areas:
- Journalism – Submit two to three pieces of individual writing used in a school newspaper, yearbook, etc.
- Radio – Submit an audio recording
- Television Broadcasting – Submit a video. Aid is available for on-air and technical positions
- Music – Audition one to two pieces of music with contrasting styles, either on campus or at a Hastings College-sponsored honor band or choir tryout

| Hastings College Grants |
Grants are awarded to deserving students meeting certain criteria to help make Hastings College an affordable option.
- Need Based Grant
This grant is awarded to students to help make Hastings College an affordable option. Demonstrated financial need (based on FAFSA results), previously awarded financial aid, personal and family circumstances are all considered when these grants are awarded. - Pursue Your Passion Grant
This is a grant designed to help students pursue their passions at Hastings College through involvement and participation in an array of campus opportunities. Qualifying interests include academic area, involvement in student government, sororities and fraternities, clubs and organizations, or community service and church related activities. Participation and interest in pursuing this passion in college is required. Students must provide a resume and letter explaining why they should receive this grant. This grant is for students who do not qualify for any Hastings College special skill scholarships. Ask your HC admissions counselor if you qualify for one of these grants and for additional details. - Family Grant
Special funds are available for families with two or more dependents attending Hastings College on a full-time basis in the same academic year. These awards are $1,000 per year for each student. - Beacon Grant
This grant is awarded to minority students who will be a source of inspiration for the college as we continue our efforts to become more inclusive and more representative of the diversity of our country and world. The grant is for new students entering Hastings College for the 2010/2011 academic year. Please contact your HC admissions counselor to see if you qualify for this grant and to get additional details. - Bean Legacy Scholarship for Colorado Students
The program’s namesake, Mr. Jerry Bean, was a driving force behind our ongoing commitment to Colorado students, and this program is a celebration of our 30 year partnership in Colorado. 30 scholarships are available To qualify, Colorado high school seniors must meet ALL of the following by January 15, 2010:- 23-25 ACT composite score and top 25 percent of graduating class
- 26-36 ACT composite score and top 50 percent of graduating class
- Apply and complete all admissions requirements
- Meet with your Rocky Mountain Admissions Counselor Each scholarship is worth $11,000 per year (total value: $44,000) toward the total cost of attendance at Hastings College (tuition, fees, room, board) and is renewable for up to 4 years with good academic standing. This scholarship may not be combined with any other Hastings College aid.
- Legacy Grant
This grant is for students whose parents or grandparents attended Hastings College. You must have this information noted on your application for admission. The award is worth $500 per year. - Ministerial Grant
Grants worth $500 are available annually to students with a parent who is an ordained minister currently serving in a Christian church. - Presbyterian Matching Grant Program
These awards provide matching funds up to $500 for students receiving assistance from their Presbyterian church. - Campus Employment
A limited number of part-time employment opportunities are available to students to help with college expenses. On-campus jobs are assigned to new students based on demonstrated need and desire to work. - FAFSA Filers
Accepted students who file their FAFSA by April 1 will receive a $500 grant. This grant is renewable each year as long as the FAFSA is filed by April 1.
These scholarships and grants can be combined with other Hastings College aid (except full-tuition Walter Scott, Kessler scholarships and National Merit Finalists). Provided you continue to participate in the activity, all special skill scholarships are fully renewable and can be obtained by following the requirements listed above.
