Pursue Your Passion.

Athletics - Women's Basketball

Hastings College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and therefore, has a philosophy that matches the NAIA’s commitment to high standards and the principle that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of our total educational program.

Coach Jeff Dittman’s philosophy melds performance on the court with performance in the classroom—believing that dedication and effort will pay dividends in both areas, preparing the student-athlete for lifelong success.

On the court, the Hastings College women’s basketball program has seen much success, including several Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC) titles, seven straight national tournaments, four Final Four appearances, one Elite Eight appearance and three National Championships in the past seven seasons. The GPAC consists of 13 private colleges and universities in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.

The program has produced a National Player of the Year, many NAIA All-Americans, several NAIA Academic All-American Scholar Athletes and numerous All-Conference players, in addition to leading the conference with the highest GPA. Coach Dittman took the reigns of this very successful Hastings College program in 2008 and aims to continue these traditions of excellence.

Before coming to Hastings College, Coach Dittman was head coach at Dakota State University for 15 years, establishing the program on and off the court. He was also an NCAA Division I assistant at Sam Houston State from 1987-88 and took over the head coaching duties midway through the 1988-89 season. Prior to Sam Houston State, he coached at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock for three years.
