Athletics - Men's Basketball

Hastings College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and therefore, has a philosophy that matches the NAIA’s commitment to high standards and the principle that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of our total educational program.

Coach Lance Creech integrates this philosophy throughout the men’s basketball program—believing strongly in developing young men that excel not only on the court, but also in the game of life through education, hard work and dedication.

He teaches players to not only control what they can—their attitude and effort—but that through hard work, fundamentals and playing as a team, success will come. The Broncos pride themselves in physical team defense, rebounding and unselfish motion offense principles.

Hastings College competes in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). The GPAC consists of 13 private colleges and universities in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota. Coach Creech’s program has produced an NAIA All-American, several NAIA All-American Scholar Athletes and numerous All-Conference players.

Previously, Coach Creech headed the McCook Community College program and was an assistant at Hastings College. A native of Doniphan, Nebraska, he played basketball at McCook Community College and Dickinson State University.
