| Hastings College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and therefore, has a philosophy that matches the NAIA’s commitment to high standards and the principle that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of our total educational program.
Our men’s and women’s golf teams match this commitment by putting an emphasis on solid play, off-season effort and high academic standards, resulting in well-rounded individuals who have life-long passion for success.
Men’s Coach Roger Doerr and women’s Coach Jon Loetterle develop teams that excel in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC). Additionally, both teams play in multiple invitational meets across the Midwest. The GPAC consists of 13 private colleges and universities in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.
In addition to multiple All-Conference players, both teams have members who have been named All-American Scholar Athletes. In 2008, the men’s team was named as both an NAIA Scholar team and the NAIA national winner of the 2008 Champions of Character Award.
Coach Doerr received a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln and a Master’s degree in Business from Creighton University.
Coach Loetterle received a Bachelor’s degree from Hastings College and a Master’s in Education from the University of Nebraska–Kearney.
