Hastings College

Pursue Your Passion.

Athletics - Football

Hastings College is a member of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA), and therefore, has a philosophy that matches the NAIA’s commitment to high standards and the principle that intercollegiate athletics is an integral part of our total educational program.

Coach Paul Mierkiewicz believes in the student-athlete, the kind of athlete that is dedicated to working hard and that can be trusted to do things right. He believes that by being committed to the classroom and the field, you’ll find success in the program.

This success is evident in the classroom, where the football program’s team GPA is consistently well above average—evidenced by many NAIA All-American Scholar Athlete selections. It is also evident on the field, where numerous players have received post-season honors, including NAIA All-Americans and All-Conference selections.

Through seven seasons, Mierkiewicz’s teams have a 44-29 record and a solid performance in the Great Plains Athletic Conference (GPAC), of which Hastings College is a member. The GPAC consists of 13 private colleges and universities in Nebraska, Iowa and South Dakota.

Previously, Coach Mierkiewicz served as offensive coordinator and assistant to the athletic director at Hastings College. He is a native of Morton Grove, Ill., and played football at Loras College.
