Academics - Physical Education
Where can Physical Education take you?

From sports management to coaching to athletic training, Physical Education and Human Performance at Hastings College pulls together athletics, recreation, teaching, science and psychology to help you build a strong foundation for a rewarding career.

Hastings College offers two majors in this area: Exercise Science and Recreation and Sports Management. We also offer a Physical Education Subject Endorsement.

The Hastings College Physical Education Advantage
  • Subject areas are built around curriculums designed to develop critical thinking and communication skills in addition to a strong understanding of health and fitness.
  • Small class sizes mean individual attention and personalized learning.
  • By combining science, psychology, fitness and health, Exercise Science helps you motivate, educate and instill life-changing habits in others.
  • Our Recreation and Sports Management major gives you skills to develop practical information and experiences in two areas of emphasis and communicate those concepts to others.
  • A variety of physical fitness opportunities abound at Hastings College, as do hands-on learning experiences through coursework and internships.
  • Take advantage of J-Term, our January interim period, to practice your skills around the world, explore a unique internship, or immerse yourself into an in-depth course on campus.

“My major is Physical Education with a Coaching Endorsement, and I love the interaction with other students and younger children.”
