 2009-10 SEASON STATS

HASTINGS BOUNCES BACK WITH 79-69 WIN OVER JOHN BROWN UNIVERSITY
Nov. 14-  The Hastings women's basketball team had to quickly forget about the previous day's loss and play John Brown University at 1:00 in the Ozarks Classic.  The team rebounded well for a 10 point win.  The Lady Broncos were able to take a 10 point lead into the half time break behind 52% shooting from the field and 60% shooting behind the arc.  Hastings was able to hold on to the 10 point lead throughout the second half.  Lindsay Ducey had another big game with 24 points including 7-7 from the free throw line and 8 rebounds.  Becky Tesch was the second leading scored for the team with 12 and Kim Faimon and Rachel Isherwood were not far behind with 10 points a piece.  The women now have some time off as they do not play again until next Saturday when they face #15 University of Sioux Falls for the GPAC opening game.  It will be the 5th ranked team the Lady Broncos have faced thus far.

LADY BRONCOS LOSE A TOUGH GAME TO #7 COLLEGE OF THE OZARKS
Nov. 13-  The Lady Broncos lost a tough game this evening to #7 College of the Ozarks 65-63 in the Ozarks Classic.  The game was a tale of two halves.  In the first half, the Lady Broncos shot 19% from the field and was only 1-10 from behind the three point line.  Because of the poor shooting, Hastings went into half time down by 11.  The second half saw a completely different Lady Bronco team.  The team shot 59% from the field and 5-5 from 3 point land.  Unfortunately, the second half surge was not enough.  Hastings was able to cause 22 turnovers while only turning the ball over 14 times, but the slow start was too much to overcome.  Lindsay Ducey lead th team with 20 points and 7 rebounds.  Kim Faimon pitched in 14 points, 8 rebounds, and 5 steals.  The Lady Broncos do not have much time to think about the loss because they turn around and play John Brown today at 1:00 in the Ozarks Classic.

LADY BRONCOS BEAT #19 SOUTHWESTERN COLLEGE 91-54
Nov. 10-  The Lady Broncos beat Southwestern tonight in a dominating fashion.  Hastings never trailed and did not let up as the lead grew.  At half time the lead was 24 points, and the Lady Broncos continued to add to the lead in the second half.  The combination of Lindsay Ducey at the high post passing down to Alicia Statler at the low past was deadly as Statler ended with 16 points with 12 of the points coming in the first half.  Ducey ended with 4 assists and 6 blocks on top of 13 total points.  Becky Tesch ended the evening as the second leading scorer for the Lady Broncos with 15 points.  Hastings defense was stiff again tonight allowing Southwestern to only shoot 28% from the field and causing 23 turnovers.  The Lady Broncos have now won 4 in a row after a first game set back and look forward to a trip to Missouri this weekend when they participate in the Ozarks Classic.

HASTINGS BEATS DAKOTA STATE
Nov. 7- The women's basketball team beat Dakota State this morning 87 to 63 at the Morningside classic.  The team continued their hot shooting in the first half as they shot 54% from the field and 61.5% from 3 point land.  The hot shooting put the Lady Broncos up by 30 points at half.  In the second half, the Lady Broncos cruised to the victory and a 24 point win.  The team has now won 3 in a row.  Heather McKeon had a very good day with 26 points on 8 of 13 shooting from the 3 point line.  Lindsay Ducey also had a good game as she scored 19 points and had 6 rebounds.  Defensively, Kim Faimon led the Lady Broncos with 6 steals.  Theteam is back in action Tuesday when they play Southwestern College at home at 7:00.

LADY BRONCOS DEFEAT #3 DAVENPORT 74-72
Nov. 6-  The Lady Broncos have bounced back from a first game loss to win the last 2 games; the latest win coming over #3 Davenport in the Morningside Classic.  The game was tight the whole time as the score at half was 33-32.  The Lady Broncos shot very well both from the 3 pt. line (4-5) and the free throw line (9-10) in the first half, but only shot 43.5% from the field.  In the second half, the team shot much better from the field connecting on 60% of their shots but was only 3-8 behind the arc.  The team defended well and kept Davenport to 26.7% shooting from 3 pt. land and 35.7% from the field.  All-American Lindsay Ducey led the team with 20 points and 12 rebounds.  Sophia McDermott chipped in 14 while Alicia Statler had 12 points.  The Lady Broncos now will play Dakota State at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 7th.
