As a young person growing up in Cambridge, Nebraska, the academic reputation of and community that is Hastings College drew me to campus as a student, where I became a member of the class of 1970. Just like today, caring faculty helped make sure I was ready to go out into the world and live a meaningful life, to go on to graduate school and to have a career where I could make a difference.
After serving on the Board of Trustees for more than five years, I joined the college staff in 2012 as Vice President for Advancement, a position serving the Hastings College Foundation. Prior to joining the College, I spent 21 years as global Chief Operating Officer of Easter Seals, Inc., and before that founded a multi-state healthcare company that focused on physical therapy services.
Where else could this happen but Hastings College? It was Hastings College that prepared me so well for this fulfilling career. For that I am forever grateful.
All these years later, it was a very humbling experience when the Board elected me to become president of the institution I have held in such high regard my whole life. I am honored to be entrusted with carrying on our mission and ensuring the College and its students are well prepared for the future.
