"The seeds for the Nebraska Nature & Visitor Center were sown years ago by a group of dedicated supporters who had a vision for a nature center on the Platte River focused on communicating the importantce of perserving Nebraska's natural resources."
The Center is a non-profit organization that operates year-round. We are solely supported by sponsorships, contributions, grants and program fees. We seek to tell our story to a diverse audience of all ages from Nebraska, the nation and around the world to increase awareness and apprciation of the Platte river ecosystem.
The Nebraska Nature & Visitor's Center offers an ideal location for nature tourism, educational programming, conferences and interacive environemtnal exhibits. The center includes two classrooms, a conference room, exhibit area, offices, kitchen, gift shop and internet access.
Other features of the center are a 35-foot high observation tower on the bank of the Platte River and a handicapped accessible pedestrian bridge leading to prairie, river-edge and riparian forest walking trails.
